But for almost the price of the hardcover book, the eBook variant is VERY disappointing.
Although the pages have been scanned to retain the images critical to this style of book, they are at dismally low resolution, so they occupy only a couple of inches in the centre of my tablet in portrait orientation. Readable, but only using half the screen. The Kindle app allows you to zoom to fill the screen with a page, but then you have to close the zoomed image to proceed to the next page. If you turn the tablet into landscape orientation, the image is scaled down to about 10% of the screen and is unreadable.
A complete rip off at this price. For this quality it should be £2 not £7!
Its a fantastic story that had my 6 year old enthralled and the geographical information also gets her interested in finding out more about the places they visited.
If you care about the way a book feels, this book feels great! It has a nice, sturdy spine (and it has been well loved!) and the pages are smooth.
Added bonus, the characters are kind and not snotty/sassy, which seems to be hard to come by in books aimed at young girls for some reason.
