My six-year-old twin grandchildren (a boy and a girl) absolutely loved this book, along with Those Darn Squirrels and Those Darn Squirrels Fly South. They giggle and laugh at the marvelous story, the funny words (like bonga birds), and the creative illustrations. They want to have it read to them again and again. This is their favorite series of books. Please Adam and Daniel, write another book about Those Darn Squirrels. We love them!!!!
Probably the most favorite books for all my three of nephews. They love it because we both cats and squirrels in our backyard. The youngest kid, after reading halfway, thought "those darn squirrels" were going to devise a plan and catapult the cat into the river. This book is hilarious for adults and children.
2n book in a series of three. The characters, Mr. Fookwire with his carrot like nose and grumpy demeanor , and “Those Darn Squirrels!” make us howl with laughter. The squirrels contraption to thwart the nasty cat nect door, is hilarious. Great graphics and well written story.
Goodness, these are delightful books! They are funny, clever, and warm. The humor is never mean-spirited, and always finds a way to show that there is personality and warmth between a grumpy old fellow and these whimsical amusing creatures! Write more Squirrel books, Adam Rubin!
Love, love, love these squirrel books. So funny and smart. Kids love them. High vocabulary, funny, and who can resist Old Man Fookwire? What a great name! Squirrels ARE fuzzy little geniuses! These books are great for ages 5-12. Or to adult! And Dragons love Tacos by same author is great, too.
My 4 year old daughter and I are really enjoying the "Darn Squirrels" series of books. With phrases like "Great Googley Moogley" and "The cat was a jerk" you can't help but laugh at bedtime. A very well written book with a fun story for both kids and parents. I plan on gifting these books to my niece and nephew and daughter's friends.
I love accompany any child's gift with a book as well. I admit, too, that it gives me a reason to plop down in the child's section and enjoy the heck out of myself reading them. The "Those Darn Squirrels" series of books are very fun and entertaining. I highly recommend them.
