From the Inside Flap
It began as a routine job: interviewing a ‘person of interest’ – Rod Ramsay, a former American soldier with links to another, Clyde Conrad, recently arrested in Germany on espionage charges. But as the questioning continued, Navarro noticed something about Ramsay: a minute tic in his hand whenever Conrad’s name was mentioned. Not a lot to go on, but he smelled a rat. The investigation that followed is unique in the annals of espionage detection . . .
Three Minutes to Doomsday is the true story of an extraordinary game of cat-and-mouse played at the highest level. With an FBI agent who could not reveal that he suspects his target on one side, and a traitor, a seller of his country’s secrets – a genius whose weakness is the thrill he gets from sparring with his inquisitor – on the other, this battle of wits would be fought out against one of the most turbulent periods of the late 20th century as the Soviet Bloc crumbled.
Navarro’s edge-of-your-seat memoir reveals the shocking, inside details of the investigation he spearheaded and stands as one of the most extraordinary stories of espionage, betrayal and investigation to have yet emerged from the Cold War. --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.

I most heartily recommend this book if one has an interest in espionage activities during the cold war. It must be said that none of our intelligence agencies comes out shining in this book. In order to come to any similar conclusions, one must read the book. I encourage that.
