It you can manage to remain conscious throughout the first 20%, which is dull in the extreme, the story itself becomes excellent and compelling. It has very good characters, excellent attention to detail and consistency, and good historical accuracy considering it was written around 100 years ago.
Although I skimmed over pages and pages at a time of dull and irrelevent discussions I would recommend the book if you like Egyptian historical novels.
This is a Free e-book on a subject in which I am interested. Therefore anything that has my interest and is free must deserve a 5 star rating even if I never get round to reading it.
The book starts out slowly, filling out the various characters and subplots that will be extended upon the main conflcit, and which all characters will be involved. Once you knew where the story was headed, it became more enjoyable to read(think half way through the book). All in all, I'll give it three stars and would recommend it to older students and most adults who like realistic hisotrical fiction.
