Under One Roof: From the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis Kindle Edition
From the New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes a new steamy, STEMinist novella...
A scientist should never cohabitate with her annoyingly hot nemesis - it leads to combustion.
Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn...
As an environmental engineer, Mara knows all about the delicate nature of ecosystems. They require balance. And leaving the thermostat alone. And not stealing someone else's food. And other rules Liam, her detestable big-oil lawyer of a roommate, knows nothing about. Okay, sure, technically she's the interloper. Liam was already entrenched in his aunt's house like some glowering grumpy giant when Mara moved in, with his big muscles and kissable mouth just sitting there on the couch tempting respectable scientists to the dark side...but Helena was her mentor and Mara's not about to move out and give up her inheritance without a fight.
The problem is, living with someone means getting to know them. And the more Mara finds out about Liam, the harder it is to loathe him...and the easier it is to love him.

About the author

Ali Hazelwood is a multi-published author—alas, of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy. Originally from Italy, she lived in Germany and Japan before moving to the U.S. to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience. She recently became a professor, which absolutely terrifies her. When Ali is not at work, she can be found running, crocheting, eating cake pops, or watching sci-fi movies with her two feline overlords (and her slightly-less-feline husband).

!! SPOILERS !!
I was disappointed with how open the ending was. I mean, what happened, exactly? The only thing that was clear was that they continued living together (as expected). We didn't really get any moments of the two of them after they had sex! Did they confess to each other? Did they go on dates? Did Liam quit his job?
The build up was actually really good but I was disappointed with how it all ended. They didn't even admit to liking each other!
Nevertheless, it was a fun read. Looking forward to reading the next two books in the series!
I started reading enemies to lovers trope from her first book - The Love Hypothesis. Everyone knows how I'm obsessed with that. And Loved the bonding between Mara, Hannah and Saddie , although they are all scientists but from different fields, still they're BFFs. This novella is SHORT, CUTE AND CHEESY.
I know Ali Hazelwood is one of my favourite author because she writes about Ph.d fellows and doesn't disappoint us😌.

First let me start by saying I love The Love Hypothesis. Adore it. It made me laugh, made me cringe, made me curious about scientific terms and weirdly enough, made me miss uni life.
This book, Under One Roof? It might be short but it doesn’t feel short. It packs a heck of a punch, and it was exactly the kind of book I needed after reading some heavy punching YA books (I just finished We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal and before that Steelstriker by Marie Lu). I haven’t read the second books in the duologies yet because I needed a break from all the oppressive weight, and Under One Roof did that perfectly.
I did wish that it had a longer epilogue. More mention of what came of Liam’s job. What happened with Mara’s aborted move. Liam sharing his epiphany when it came to Helena. I also feel that perhaps Liam mirrored Adam (from the Love Hypothesis) a little too much, but hey I’m fine with repeating a proven formula.
All in all, I’ll be reading this one again. Two thumbs up for me!

Totally couldn’t put it down so so so recommend totally enjoyable read

An environmental engineer who doesn't care about excess packaging and over consumption of resources? Under researched and undeveloped as a character. Lacking the humour and charm of the Love Hypothesis.
Books are totally subjective and we all like different things and I usually shy away from leaving negative reviews of books for those very reasons. However I was not clear it was a novella before reading nor that the story needed so much work, hence the review.

This is a much shorter book with not as much going on. It's a lot more straightforward with simpler characters. I couldn't connect with either characters much. Nevertheless, you can recognise Hazelwood's writing style, which is what makes the book a nice read.
I'm left with several unanswered questions. 4/5 if you are already a fan.
