1.0 out of 5 stars Disheartening
By Relphea Ava on 3 August 2021
First- The book was in well condition but the delivery handling was very poor which resulted in a few torn scraps.

Finally- Please read the reviews of 'Flo', 'Lainey' and 'ThatBookGirl' I completely agree with them and their rants which I was relived that someone felt the same frustration as me.

SPOILERS! COME BACK HERE AFTER READING THE BOOK!!
I was captivated by Grey in the first book more than Rhen but the 3rd book made me feel so much more for Rhen all chapters coming together making me feel cheated for him!! The spark between Harper n Grey in the first book and his potential feelings for Harper in the 2nd book in the first few pages when they reunited was heart throbbing which I liked but Rhen's love for Harper melts me and if you DIDN'T notice it you need to read the book again.
I still prefer Harper to Lia Mara I don't want to make a comparison but something about her just got annoying as the book went on. I do like Grey but with Lia Mara the scene got tiring. I just wanted to skip past the pages to be in Emberfall because that's were something interesting was brewing but I guess the author was cozy in Shyl Shallow

I hate the ending which could have been so much more for Rhen who was one of the main character he was just left off to deal with his existential crisis.
Grey and Lia Mara had it better off in everything.

The side character were Awesome from Tycho, Iisak, Salam, Jake and Noah.

Seriously though the ending sucked. It seems like the author had a bias feeling towards Grey and Lia Mara and forgot her other main characters which does not do justice to the book or the readers. I bet The book itself is crying in my shelf!

2.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece gone wrong.
By Ranjana D. on 24 October 2021
Tbh,this could have been so so much better. But the ending was Underwhelming to say the least. Every friendship, every relationship of the past seemed to have been neglected or forgotten to be taken into account by the author. The "epic face off" seemed rushed and as much as I am team Grey, I have to say that Rhen deserved better. Way better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the Last One but Overhyped
By Murtaza Kuwarawala on 14 April 2021
Title - A Vow So Bold and Deadly

Author - Brigid Kemmerer

Genre - Fantasy

After anticipating for almost a year for the final book in the trilogy, my excitement was on peak when I got my hands on this book.

When we last left our characters, we could see both Emberfall and Shyl Shallow preparing for the ultimate war. If you haven't read the previous books then I would like to mention Spoiler Alerts here. As the said 60 days move on, we see the relationship between Harper and Rhen and also Grey and Lia Mara develop. Lilith still tries to get her way from Rhen and as the story progresses, we see a lot of twists and turns throughout the novel.

A lot of us had went gaga over the series since it was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and the author did a really good job in developing the series further. Though I was never a fan of Rhen and Harper, I kept rooting for Grey throughout and it felt with this one, the author was equally more invested in the same angle.

A notch better than the first two books but there were a lot of elements that could have been more detailed this time but it kinda fell through. The second half of the book did felt a bit weak and I would go on to say it did disappoint me after the high rising first half of the book.
