I was disappointed that I spent $20 on a body part book that didn’t mention the vulva.
Is this book inclusive? Again, no. The book equates sex (and a child’s sex organs) with gender (“boys grow up to become men, and have penises”). There is no recognition—even in a subtle or discrete way—to the fact that trans identities exist.
Would I recommend this book? Not really. It’s a frank explanation of different bodies, which is great, but in a non-compelling way that is regressive and closed-minded, which is not great.
