The story has lots of twists. Each time when I believe that I have cracked the mystery, there's another twist!!! I enjoyed reading this book. This is the second book I have read by this author. Kudos for keeping our guess going.

Liked the suspense maintained till the last page. Couldn't stop finishing which I do rarely. Recommended for Thriller lovers. It won't disappoint you.

The book has a bunch of good twists but not enough character building. The attempt to humanise horrid women which are the main protagonists in the book, fails miserably.

Additionally, I felt absolutely nothing for the characters .

Usually the main character in psychological thrillers are likeable with good morals. In this book the main character is a despicable murderer. At the end you almost want her to die or at least go prision. In fact there are four characters left who are very dangerous. It's great to read a book with this refreshing difference to the bog standard story line in most modern books. I wouldn't have guessed the twists. I think the moral of this story is don't trust strangers. I loved it!!

I kept with this book despite the times it became boring. I still kept on reading because I'm between the boring bits there was more than enough to keep anyone entertained. It started pretty good to be honrst. Going back to the past from the start of the book. It kept up nd really good good parts up until well after she had married. With her now best friend Portia apart from going for coffee together they did not do anything else for quite some tine.
then being staked on Facebook Instagram every social media that Alison was on but she never really posted things about herself. It did not take me long to fathom who Jo was although no one else knew but if Alison. Had have really thought it through then it would not have taken her long to find out so in truth I was more than half way through the book when I asked for paracetamol. I was seriously taken back by the fact Alison still.had not put 2& 2 together. But still didn't know who she was then I hit the boring bit. I it picked up a little around 80\% way through .. I can not even say the ending can as no surprise well not to me it didnt. I can't actually say I recommend the book I suffered around 30% boring only reason I did continue to read it was I hate putting any book down,,,,,,,

What a story! So many twists and turns it made me dizzy. The Widow is a well written tense psychological thriller that kept me glued throughout. Even up to two thirds of the way through, I still couldn't work out which way the story would go. Be prepared to stay up all night to finish this one.

When Allison meets wealthy bachelor Peter, she feels sure her life is complete but little does she know that her picture perfect existence is just the beginning of a nightmare that seems to have no end. When her husband of only three months is found dead, the life she had planned begins to unravel, but that's not surprising because they both had secrets that would have been better remaining buried.

A full 5 stars from me! Another cracking read Ms Keogh. I look forward to your next book.

Continuing her talent for producing dark clever tales with twists you just won't see coming, and more twists again, and again, until finally, when you think there can't be any more, another knocks you for six. Really, how does Valerie Keogh come up with such original, addictive stories? I loved her last book, The Lodger, and didn't think she could improve on the standard of suspense and clever plotting. Until I read The Widow that is. Loved it! Very well written too, always important. 5 stars from me.
