Children with a reading age of 9 or over would not struggle to read this book. It would be suitable for younger children who are strong readers or reading with an adult as well. I can already think of a few children in my class who haven't yet found the right book to get them hooked on reading but LOVE gaming - this might just be the ticket!

Generally well written and the story kept you captivated. Would recommend equally for pre-teen girls and boys, especially those that like adventure and into computer games. Mildly scary in parts (similar as the first couple of Harry Potters).
I have read 'The uncommoners' and it is still the best book i have ever read. So when I found out the same author was writing a new book set in a video game, I knew I had to pick up a copy and I wasn't dissapointed! The wonderscape feels very real and is packed full of puzzles, mysteries and riddles. The character development in particular was very good - When I began the book i wasn't that keen on the protagonists but by the end i really liked them. They felt like real people.
It's very well written, too. I would enjoy seeing a film adaption of this novel!
