Master Piece !

This book is again a master piece from Mr. Norman Lewis.
A must read book for all . (even you are student or not )
This book is very essential for laying down
a foundation stone for your vocabulary building.
I come from a hindi medium schooling but this book gave me confidence in vocabulary development.

Despondent over the quality of book

I haven't read it yet but who would actually have any keenness left after seeing the quality of pages. If your paying for the full book why only half white quality pages while the other half are yellow very low quality dusky paper used which will in no time get ripped off easily. Disappointed!

This is a great book for developing your vocabulary. Instead of giving you a bunch of words to basically cram, this book has a structured approach where you learn some words which all share a root or common theme. The book has abundant exercises which will really hammer the words into the reader's memory. Highly recommended to all aspirants of competitive exams and also anyone who wants to polish their personality by learning better words.

About the Book: Word power made easy by Norman Lewis is one of the most amazing book I came across in recent days. It is the most effective vocabulary builder in English language of all time. The simple, step by step method described in the book will increase your knowledge and mastery of English language with regular practice.
About the Author: Norman Lewis was an author, grammarian, lexicographer and etymologist. He had a leading authority on English language skills, whose best selling 30 DAYS TO POWERFUL VOCABULARY published by POCKET BOOKS in 1971.

Title: The title “Word Power made Easy” is so perfect and totally justified as per the content.
Cover: The cover is to the point without any unnecessary drama and gives us a clear picture of what is there for us.
Blurb: The blurb portion is written and edited well. It asks some direct questions to the reader whereby it’s easy to understand of what the book has to offer.
Content: This is an exclusive book and you won’t be getting another second piece of it like this kind. It is a thick book over 700 pages. It is the best and quickest means to better vocabulary in the English language. Each chapter ends with a review. Each section ends with a progress check. Numerous tests will help you to increase and retain your knowledge you acquired. This book does more than adding words in your vocabulary. It teaches ideas and methods of broadening knowledge as an integral part of vocabulary building process. You don’t just read this book rather you have to practice this book. The more time you give the more enriching your experience will be. Once you complete the book you will no longer be the same person, your knowledge will enhance a lot. I recommend this book to everyone no matter for which competitive exams you are preparing. It will add to your success in the long run.

Respect to cost it's too good to learn vocabulary. I'm pretty sure if you cover this very less will be remain to learn. Almost every competitive exam you can beat others.

Will increase the knowledge of english vocubulary like story reading. Neitheer make u bore nor feel u clumsy. This book will really helped me for competitive exams and last but not least amazon prooved again its on time delivery but in this case this was before time of delivery. Thanks amazon

Interesting way to build your vocab.
Learning new words can be boring if you go my rote learning.
The book uses the root concept and is very good if you plan to appear for competitive exams (inc GRE, GMAT, SAT etc), but you need to start it 4-6 months before the exam. May take about a month to finish if you learn 1-2 lessons per day.
It may also provide some help if you come across any new word if they are based on the roots

An awesome book and a must have if you seriously think about building your vocabulary. This book talks about words, their origins and many more. It increases our vocabulary multi fold. If you are preparing for any competitive exams, you must read it. Even if you are not, if you are serious about becoming more proficient in English, this book teaches a lot.

I have read this book when I attended GRE exam back in 1987. It's still the best book for picking up English words. Now I have bought this one for my daughter who is in 1st year B.Tech. The book has undergone good number of changes which suits today's competitive exams. I suggest it without any reservations. A must book for all graduating students.

Helps to begin a quest for a lifetime of building a good vocabulary and learning new words in everyday life.
For anyone buying this book with preparing for competitive exams like CAT, GRE, GMAT etc in mind my suggestion would be to do 1 or 2 sessions per day and complete this book with all the given exercises in a month. Working along with the book is supremely important, and writing, highlighting and referring to synonyms in a Thesaurus would be pretty handy and will go a long way. I am on the 45th exercise and plan to finish it in a couple of days.
Good luck on your journey to seek and learn new words!
