As a beginner I do recommend you use light gauge .10 as the efforts are less and gets you cozy...But do keep in touch everyday! If you are concerned about the tone, go with this .11

You can take help of some YouTube videos if want to do it on your own or you may go to any guitar shop to get it installed. It's not very difficult to install strings on a guitar but if you are a beginner, I would suggest you to go to a shop.
