I had topped 4PSI which took less than 3 secs. Remember these machines are for topping air pressure, we rarely would have a situation where we are filling a completely flat tyre.

It will cut off excess pressure manually when you unlock the air chunk but reading will not be accurate until you lock the air chunk again. But there was no feature to cutoff air pressure automatically by setting desired cutoff pressure.
