Amazon.in launches its largest Fulfilment Centre in Haryana, in readiness for the upcoming festive season
• Ramps up storage capacity by 1.5X, now offering over 5 million cubic feet of storage space in Haryana alone
• Faster order fulfilment to customers in Haryana, NCR and other neighboring regions
• Further support the wide selection offered by close to 30,000 sellers in Haryana and NCR
Gurugram, August 13, 2018: Amazon.in announced the expansion of its infrastructure footprint opening its largest fulfilment centre (FC) in Haryana with the view to enhance customer experience ahead of the festive season. Spread over close to 300,000 square feet with over 1.5 million cubic feet of storage space, the centre situated in Panchgaon will enable faster delivery to customers in the region. With this infrastructure, Amazon has increased its storage capacity by 1.5X since last year in Haryana. The company now has more than 5 million cubic feet of storage space in the state. This FC is one of the five announced for 2018. Amazon India will exit 2018 with more than 50 fulfilment Centres in 13 states across the country with a combined storage space of close to 20 million cubic feet.
On the launch, Mr. Devender Singh IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary, Industries & Commerce Dept., Govt. of Haryana said, “Amazon India’s further investment in Haryana with the launch of their largest Fulfilment Centre signifies the growing interest of large global enterprises in the state. The FC will enable small & medium businesses selling locally created products such as apparel, handlooms and handicraft to service customers seamlessly across the country. It will also provide support to the local economy by enabling the growth of ancillary businesses such as packaging, transportation, logistics, and hospitality across the state. This fulfilment centre will create direct and indirect opportunities for thousands of people in the region. We are committed to enabling the ease of doing business and helping companies like Amazon to expand their presence in Haryana.”
