KINDLE IS A MUST TO HAVE TO EVERY AVID READER, AND THE DEVISE WORK ABSOLUTELY FINE FOR 3 YEARS HOWEVER ALL OF A SUDDEN DEVICE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AND STUCK AT THE KINDLE HOME PAGE. I TRIED RE-START AND COLD BOOT EVERYTHING BUT STILL NO CHANGE. TO ME IT LOOKED JUST SOFTWARE ISSUE AND CAN BE FIXED WITH RE-INSTALLING THE KINDLE OS

I DISCUSSED THIS WITH AMAZON CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND AS ADVISED, I TOOK THE DEVICE TO AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER FOR A PAID REPAIR AS MY DEVICE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THE SERVICE CENTER TOOK THE DEVICE AND TOLD THEY WILL SEND THE DEVICE TO THEIR MUMBAI SERVICE CENTER FOR REPAIR AND I WILL BE GETTING THE COMPLETE DETAIL ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE REPAIR CHARGES OVER EMAIL AND IF I WISH TO GO FOR THE REPAIR I CAN CONFIRM OVER EMAIL.

TO MY SURPRISE THE RESPONSE FROM DEVICE SERVICE SUPPORT TEAM WAS IT CAN’T BE REPAIRED AS THIS IS BER I:E BEYOND ECONOMICAL REPAIR. VERY HEARTBREAKING AND SADDENS THAT DEVICE CAN'T WITHSTAND FOR MORE THAN 4 YEARS ALTHOUGH HANDLED WITH UTMOST CARE.

VERY DUBIOUS SHOULD I BUY A NEW DEVICE, HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THE DEVICE IS PROVIDE BETTER READING EXPERIENCE ONLY AND IT CANT WITHSTAND BEYOND 3-4 YEARS AS I CONSIDERED IT AS ONE TIME INVESTMENT.
SO FINALLY I PAID RS 300O EVERY YEAR FOR READING EXPERIENCE AS AT THE END OF 4 YEARS THE DEVICE IS CAN'T BE REPAIRED.
