The shape is also pretty unique and I can't recommend this sketchbook enough.
First off, this is an extremely well made sketchbook, lies completely flat, has a bookmark and a nice, textured cover. The pages are thick and smooth, but still with a bit of tooth in it. I think this is an excellent sketchbook for doing ink and watercolour wash paintings. Though the paper takes one or two washes of watercolour I have not yet tried it with the techniques I would use on actual watercolour paper, especially wet-on-wet techniques. Dry media would also work on this one, but I personally prefer paper with a bit more tooth for dry media. The paper is thick enough to work with gouache and acrylics, provided too much water is not used(I think it's quite perfect for mixed media. Once I try colour pencils I will update this review. Highly recommended, a thing of beauty
