My first reaction, upon reading the book was that "I need an Arjun in my life" - he's smart, kind, dutiful & of course, handsome & well built. You'd think that level of perfection would make him beyond reach, but Shilpa takes these qualities & complements them with his stark honesty & down to earth nature to make him the guy of anyone's dreams.
More than Arjun - I love the beautiful, strong female lead Naina. Stuck in a family that doesn't care for her other than making her a pawn in a political game, she rises to every occasion when it demands, finding a strength deep within her, buoyed on by Arjun to get out of a rut & make something of her life. Her character comes across as someone who puts her heart & soul into all she does & the same carries over to her relationships also.
There's only one word that I can use to describe the story - delicious. I don't want to reveal too much of the plot here, but suffice to say that the hero & heroine meet, fall in love, are separated because destiny intervenes, meet again - but can they eventually find their way to each other for good? Well - you'll have to read the book to find out.
The story is stunningly descriptive - from the mountains of Ladakh to the beaches of Goa, from the short hair that Naina has to sport to protect her identity to Arjun's tie scruffed up in the aftermath of his engagement - every word makes you feel like you are living the story & you are right there with Arjun & Naina, watching them as the scenes described in the book unfold before your eyes.
Even in the midst of the madness of the mom life, I couldn't put the book down once I had started reading it - so involved was I in Arjun & Naina's story, which I think is the biggest strength of the book. It's gripping & not too many love stories are like that!
