🍁This year has not been productive so far. We have been facing a worldwide pandemic, we all are suffering from anxiety, depression and what not. At this point, I wanted to read something cheerful that could bring back a little bit of positivity in my life and this book definitely made me incredibly happy 😊
🍁Coming to the title, 'Hygge' (pronounced as Hoo-guh) is a danish term that doesn't have a literal translation in most of the languages, but it's a concept that everyone is familiar with--a sense of warmth, cosiness, comfort, safety. In short, anything that makes you feel good is Hygge. It can be candles, a piece of fluffy homemade cake,a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, reading your favourite book by the fireplace, an intimate dinner at home with near & dear ones and lot more.
🍁What I learnt from this book is, it is not difficult to feel good, it just takes a little collective effort everyday. But at the same time, some of the tips mentioned by Wiking on how to implement hygge seemed out of reach for people in india, based on the their social & economic status.
🍁Overall, reading this was an absolute pleasure for me. I got to know about the culture, food, fashion, lifestyle of the Danish, who are considered the happiest people in the world. The book itself is so beautiful with brilliant photographs & illustrations that you immediately feel hygge while reading it. 😍 Highly recommended.
