I just finished reading Wrecking Ball, the latest in Jeff Kinney's Diary Of A Wimpy Kid series. And... I enjoyed every bit of it!
Greg, the young hero of the book, and his family receive an inheritance from a deceased aunt. They decide to spend the money upgrading their house, a plan which leads to several other developments - and that's what this book is all about. It kept me hooked from start to finish, with Kinney's trademark wit, natural (unforced) humour and his narration of entirely relatable life situations. The story is told in the form of Greg's personal journal, in his voice, which makes it all the more fun and relatable. This is actually supposed to be a book for kids, but I loved it to bits.
Adult or not, you should totally check out this book! The beautiful hardcover copy is a joy to read.
