A.J. Finn (real name Dan Mallory)rides smoothly on the modern trend to have a woman as protagonist in crime thrillers. This trend has worked wonders for the genre. Just as Mallory read a double life, this novel too now seems to have been partly plagiarised from another 2016 thriller which went unnoticed. Some credit is due to Finn for this captivating thriller seen through the eyes (literally) of a agarophobic, paranoid, suffering lady who struggles to live, to free herself from inner demons. In that sense this novel too has two lives, one of the protagonist Anne Fox and the other the crime that happens across the park. It is a voyeuristic thriller if ever there was one. the suspense is kept alive, short chapters and e-mail style narrative keeps us engaged and the twist at the end is admirable. We cannot wait for the novel to Finnish . Book to read.
