Sudhin Ghose' work is listed as one of the things that gave Ruskin Bond great joy during his formative years, and this was the primary reason why I had thought about reading it, being an earnest Ruskin Bond fan. The book, however was very disappointing for me personally since it is not about nature writing at all. It is basically a children's story in magic realism about growing up and schooling. The writing though interesting and creative, is mostly dialogue between the characters, and does not contain lyrical prose that is what I had probably erroneously hoped for.
