Customer Review

Loved the series in general because I got what I expected from a YA fantasy trilogy. It is lacking in some ways when compared to a more nuanced fantasy series, but it is exactly what it claims to be in the blurb, and for that it deserves 5 stars.
Mahurin is good at writing about emotions, just not very good at arranging the plot. It was a fun-to-read series, despite the second book syndrome. The world-building was simple to follow, the characters were distinct. I just wish the political background was created with as much care as the relationships (romantic and platonic) were. Also must mention that the epilogue was very very well done even though it had a bit of a fanfic/tumblr headcanon vibe.
