I took almost a month to finish this giant book! The beginning of this book did not intrigue me at all. The first 200-300 pages were really hard for me to pull off but after that the plot suddenly took pace and it came with unexpected twists and turns. Suddenly it became so intriguing that I could hardly put the book down.
.
The characters and their detailed pasts which somehow link up with each other are the reasons that will keep you hooked throughout. The reader can't judge a character by reading a part of the book as they are stitched at different parts of the book and at appropriate times when you least expect it. Each character is crafted so delicately that until you reach the end of the book, you can't judge them completely.
.
The battle at the end of the book did disappoint me. I expected the battle to last a bit longer but it wrapped up so quickly.
.
I don't know if it happens with everyone or not, but when I take a very long time to complete a book, I start treating the characters of the book as a family! 🙈 I felt more close to Ead and Tane, as if I was experiencing their struggle, their happiness, their hard times!
.
If you're going to pick up this book because of dragons, then let me tell you it's something beyond that. The history, the culture, the beliefs of people across different regions forms the base of the book.
