Erin seems to have rebounded in love to choose her now husband, Greg. The timing of her bumping into her old flame Adam, couldn't be worse as she and Greg are struggling in their marriage. When Greg fails to live up to his word, and Adam seems to need Erin like never before, she is completely torn. Who will she choose?
If I'm honest, I didn't really like all three of the main characters in this story, but the story itself is good and the resolution of it just fantastic!
From the moment a young Erin meets Adam Bowers at a student party that was it for her. The way he made her feel was indescribable. No one has ever made her feel like that before. Adam is well spoken and fresh from being kicked out from a posh school, he seems edgy, he’s in a band and there is the hint of a bad boy that she cannot resist
Waiting in the wings is Greg, he is Erin’s friend and she loves talking to him but he is stuck in the friend zone.
When Erin breaks up with Adam due to his often no care attitude and unexplained love bites she is heartbroken and Greg picks up the pieces. Greg knows the score, he is second best but fast forward nearly two decades Erin is married to Greg and their marriage is in trouble.
One day whilst out Erin hears and sees Adam busking, in her utter shock she runs away.
Soon she feels powerless as her senses disappears as she meets up with Adam, it is not the meeting she expected because Adam has changed from the man she knew and desperately needs her help.
To help Adam she knows Greg’s worse nightmare will be realised, or will risking it all be the right move… in making her choice the result even surprises Erin.
Loved this book - it’s a real page turner and I couldn’t put it down. I enjoy the pace and style of this author’s writing and she didn’t disappoint with this one. I found the characters relatable and human and the ending satisfying.
Loved this story about Erin Greg her husband , and the return of her first love Adam who has a brain injury and doesn’t remember his old life. Erin has to content with her mum who is in a home with dementia and her dad who has become a hoarder. Follow the ups and downs of life and what Erin will do. The ending is right for her. A must read
It takes you on a journey through love, passion and relationships through your teenage years to the present. Time has a great way of distorting the truth and how we perceive first loves. I think Erin definitely made the right decision in the end. A great ending. Highly recommended with a cup of tea or glass of wine to brighten those grey, wintry skies.
A thoroughly absorbing read. A unique angle to the ‘one who got away’. Had you guessing to the end and a very surprising but satisfying end it was. I 100% recommend it to anyone who wants to deal with past ghosts and enjoy a good read! Loved it !
