Heather has some things in common with Unicorn and Yeti. She has lived on a snowy mountaintop. She loves anything with rainbow sprinkles on it. And although she cannot do magic, she knows that reading is magical! Heather hopes that the Unicorn and Yeti books will inspire readers to be a friend to others, no matter how different they may be from themselves.

Sparkly New Friends was named a Best Children's Book of 2019 by Parents Magazine.

Getting my daughter to read is worse than pulling teeth. I would know considering it’s what I do for a living. I’ want my daughter to WANT to read rather than it being a chore or for me to force her and then she create a negative association with reading. Anyway, I bought her this unicorn and yeti book and she has read and reread and reread this book and it’s the cutest thing in the world to me! She packs it to her grandparents house, on car rides, or will just lay in her bed reading it. It’s so cute, the story line is simple as are the words but it’s not boring. The illustrations are darling and we both can’t wait until the third book is out!!!
