This is a very well thought out review on the iball 4 port usb 3.0 hub. Firstly let me explain why I needed a hub. I have an Android box which has only one 3.0 port the other being a 2.0 port. I was desperately looking for a way to connect both my 4 tb HDD and 1 tb HDD together. I ended up buying a Pibox India 4 port usb 3.0 hub first but unfortunately it couldn't take the load of both the hard disks together and there was a huge lag to even open the folders in each of the hard disks. That is the reason that I bought this product in the first place. Unfortunately the result was the same with the iball hub. Even the wireless mouse was struggling to work with both the hard disks connected. Neither of the disks opened smoothly and file browser just stopped working continuously. So I was so disappointed.( and please note that this product can only be replaced. And not returned!!!. )
Luckily I figured out a way to sort out the mess. I connected a 25W fast charger to the Pibox India hub (note that Pibox has a 5V micro usb extra power slot while i ball hub has the ancient small pin power slot like that of old nokia phone chargers. ) and connected the iball hub to one of the ports of the Pibox hub and viola!! Now the hub is somehow having enough juice to power 1tb HDD, my 64 gb usb 3.0 Kingston pendrive and usb mouse dongle and all of them are working very smoothly. The 4tb HDD is however connected to 3.0 slot of the android box.
So I would suggest that you buy an old type small pin charger along with this iball hub if you want to play hard drives and pendrives for example to watch hd movies.. I hope this helps..
