About steve higgs
When Steve Higgs wrote his debut novel, Paranormal Nonsense, he was a captain in the British Army. He would like to pretend that he had one of those careers that must be blacked out and generally denied by the government, and that he has to change his name and move constantly because he is still on the watch list in several countries. In truth, though, he started out as a mechanic - not like Jason Statham in the film by that name, sneaking around as a hitman, but more like one of those sleazy guys who charges a fortune and keeps your car for a week even though the only thing you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, he was largely disinterested in all subjects except creative writing, for which he won his first prize at the age of ten. However, calling it the first prize he won suggests that there were other prizes, which is not the case. Awards may yet come, but in the meantime, he enjoys writing mystery and thriller novels and claims to have more than a hundred books forming a restless queue in his mind because they are desperate to be written.
Now retired from the military, he lives in southeast England with a duo of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, he doubts he'll ever leave, the beer is just too good.

Praise for the Blue Moon Investigation series and Steve Higgs:
Higgs writes accessible, inclusive, and thoroughly funny mysteries that always deliver great paranormal entertainment.
A heaping helping of fun, the right amount of laugh-'til-you-cry, fun characters, some with more than their share of quirk, and clever mysteries that will keep you reading long past bedtime. Highly recommended!
Tempest is a great character! The premise is great - sort of like Scooby-doo for grownups but smarter with interesting twists and turns. The dogs are adorable! This boxed set is excellent value - I'm working my way through the series now!
This is one of the best-written series that I have ever read. This series has it all: complexity, creativity, humor, interesting characters, action, and dogs!

Paranormal Nonsense – Falsely advertised as a paranormal investigator, Tempest Michaels has a serial killing vampire to track down and a poltergeist to catch …
… because he’s staked his reputation on proving none of it is real.
Helped by disillusioned cop, Amanda Harper, the duo is not only pitted against a brotherhood of vampire wannabes, but also a desperately ticking clock when one of his friends is taken.
He’s got all the help he could need and more, though, as his friends, his mum, and his dogs are pitching in!
The Phantom of Barker Mill – A hundred-year-old mystery proves irresistible for England’s only paranormal P.I. It looks like the perfect case …
… but someone, or perhaps everyone is lying to him.
As he closes in on the truth, he is led into a race against time that may cost him more than he is willing to pay.
Oh, and his mum wants him to organise a baby shower.
‘This series has it all; everything I want in a story and series ... humour, suspense, and colourful characters. It’s one of my top all-time favourite series.’
If you are a fan of fast-paced paranormal thrillers, then this urban fantasy series is sure to please.
Hounded by the police, trying to learn a new job in a new town, and constantly picking up after her slob of a flat mate, Anastasia has all she needs on her plate …
… add being hunted by demons to the mix won’t help then.
Whatever it is that makes her special, it’s attracting a lot of heat. The demons all seem to want her, but the ancient secret driving them to her might also hold the key to her survival.
Trained to kill, naturally aggressive, and angrier than a bear with no breakfast, Anastasia is looking for a way to turn the tables on her captors. Trick her into being a demon’s slave …
… big mistake.
‘This urban fantasy series has everything! You can count on Steve Higgs to deliver suspense-filled stories that steal your sleep.
'If you want a series with a strong, kick-ass female lead, then this is it!'
The world knows nothing of the supernaturals among them …
… but that’s all about to change.
When Anastasia Aaronson stumbles across two hellish creatures, her body reacts by channeling magic to defend itself and unleashes power the Earth has forgotten.
But as she flexes her new-found magical muscle, it draws the attention of a demon who has a very particular use for her. Now she must learn to control the power she can wield as a world of magical beings take an interest.
She may be damaged, but caught in a struggle she knew nothing about, she will rise, and the demons may learn they are not the real monsters.
The demons know she is special, but if they knew the truth, they would run.
Zachary has a secret he tries to keep under wraps …
… if only people would let him. When he drifts into a remote farming community looking for work, the trouble starts before he orders breakfast.
Normally he would just avoid the trouble and move on, but there’s a girl. Not a woman. A little girl, and the men that want to dominate the village threaten her livelihood. And that just won’t do.
There’s something very rotten in this community but digging into it brings him face to face with something more powerful even than him. Something ancient and unstoppable. He has no choice other than to fight, but who will walk away?
As the false gods force their way into the realm of mortals, how many will rise to defend the Earth?
Be ready for war.
… he’s got a real problem ahead.
He’s about to face an ancient creature so twisted and evil even the demons fear it. But he’s not the only person on the hunt.

Whispers in the Rigging – His dad reported stories of a ghost in the old Royal Dockyard, but that’s not why Tempest is going undercover. He’s there because his dad was found unconscious in a dumpster when he tried to poke around. Now Tempest must find out what is going on, but all too soon he realises there’s something beneath the dockyard that is much worse than ghosts.
The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving might just get them killed.
