To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This book is the day to day life of a typical 2nd grader. Nothing special happens to him. He goes out to eat. He bumps his head. He imagines a monster under the bed. Ordinary stuff. There's no through line or reason to turn the page. It's the first book I've read to my 7 year old boy where he doesn't care if I read another chapter or even finish the chapter. He's all "It's OK mom, I can just go to sleep now." It doesn't trump sleep, the lowest of bars. I don't get it.
Bought this for my son who is going into grade two, to get him excited about grade two and had high hopes for it based on the reviews but it was kind of a bore. Its a chapter book and the just drags. He loves books but neither him nor I could really get into this.
