This is such a good book!! I actually searched “good book to read” on Twitter (I’ve found my last few great reads that way!) and found this gem of a read. It’s funny, well-written and grabbed my interest right away. I’ll be googling more books from this author for sure!
I enjoyed this book very much! Being a collector of cookbooks, the fact it also had recipes was a bonus!! Beth Harbison’s character development and the biokk’s plot made it hard to put down. The Cookbook Club would make a great movie!!
I pre-ordered this book as I am a big fan of Beth Harbison. I really enjoyed the characters, but didn't understand Aja's concealed pregnancy, and the references to how Trista's law career ended and Margo's ex-husband's behavior were not well developed. I felt the last few chapters were super rushed. The way the storylines wrapped up for each character just seemed illogical and abrupt. However, the food descriptions were fantastic, and while I normally donate books to my local library afterwards, I will be keeping this one for the collection of favorite recipes in the back.
I thought that the 7th decade was the time to avoid stories with multiple happy endings. This book changed that internal conversation. Everyone needs a fairy tale told from multiple perspectives with back stories sprinkled in, respectively. The author was very creative with not only the storyline that friendship begins at the nexus of life & common interest(s) but also that internal dialog is basic to maturity after a certain age. Try this book and you'll find that you just might like its' easy-reading hidden treasures.
I love books about friends and the bonds of frienship and this book gave me all that. It's the story of three women who bond over their love of food and cooking. While each of the women have obstacles they need to overcome they soon find they are not alone. They are all helping each other. This is a wonderful read! I heppily recommend it!
This is what I would call "chick-lit," and it is a cute story involving 3 different women who form a cookbook club. There are recipes in the back, and the food sounds delicious. It is a quick read and enjoyable.
