Refreshing content, refreshing style

Candidly explores female black identity and sexuality over generations in the UK, hopping deftly between lives and times in a most heart warming manner. While reams of literature emerge from the US detailing slave trade, the civil war and such, very little exists from the POV of the British Isles and the offspring from its liaisons with Africa. Add to that a wonderful style of writing, this book is truly a new genre.
