Nostalgia may be playing a part in my fondness for Lionni's art, but it remains beautiful and doesn't date. For my young nieces (3 and 6), the book became an inspiration for making art with natural materials, continuing the story.
Amazing story ! I read this to my 16 month old great grandson and at the same time I roll out between the palms of my hands a squidgy worm with some green play dough I have made. We both enjoy the story and playing with the squidgy play dough worm !
Purchased book as a present for my friend's daughter. Came in good time for Christmas and very pleased as was packaged very well and so arrived in good condition as was worried as only a paperback book and could so easily have been ruined in the post, especially around Christmas time with all the mail. Was very pleased with it as it looked a very lovely story for a young child. Would definitely recommend.
This is one of my favorite Leo Lionni titles! The artwork is gorgeous, simple, and clear. The book tells the story of an inchworm who manages to escape being eaten with his special ability to measure. This is an engaging read for kids ages 2-6 and a great title to pique STEM interest (measurement as well as insects).
