This is a nice little book, but very simplistic. I was hoping there would be some pages with more complex drawings combining different leaves and flowers, but actually each page is just one specific plant/flower. My main issue with the book leading to only 3 stars is that why on earth aren't each of the plants/flowers named? Sure some of them are quite obviously a fern, or a rose or an orchid for example, but naming each of them would have really made the book both informative and fun. Essentially this is just a fun doodle book, which I've found pretty relaxing to do, and have managed to get creative and put my own combinations together to produce more substantial drawings.
A lot of wasted space, and very basic drawings, overly simplified. Might have kept a child busy for a few pages before they too became bored with the repetition. The title used 'Botanical' - more like simple line drawing when I expected much better depictions of each plant. Misleading, and I felt it a waste of money.
Great book to start your doodling skills for botanical drawings. The book has an easy layout and the steps are super easy to follow. I own the Kindle version which helps to zoom into the pictures in case I am not sure about a specific area of the drawing. Otherwise, it really helps even very untalented people like myself to draw something very pretty! Perfect for people who like doodling, either in their bullet journal, their journals or in snail mailing.
Each drawing comes in 6 easy to follow steps. There are flowers, cacti and leaves and other natural drawings. Really nice book!
I needed to find an outlet to release the daily stress and this book was a godsend. It got me started with drawing and I have started sketching regularly after that. All drawings are easy to follow, some are far too easy that I wonder whether it should be on the book, but anyways it's utterly amazing. Highly recommend.
If you are a designer / artist you probably wouldn't think twice about buying this book. 200 step by step mini tutorials on how to make plant / floral doodles etc. Because of there being so many already solved design technmiques here, everything is just layed out for your future in case you ever need help. Recommended 100% .
An excellent book for the non-artist, it truly is step by step and you can't fail to produce decent doodles as illustrated on the cover. I've been working through the book and practice has definitely improved my drawing and writing skills. Good for journaling.
Every drawing is broken into six steps, there are a variety of plants of varying complexity. This book offers everything I’ve been looking for and cuts out the hassle of having to google step by step instructions. Can’t wait to spruce up my journals!
