These books are hilarious! Great for when you're assisting a child with reading aloud and you can giggle through the process. In my my experience, great series for kids who may have minimal interest in reading or get bored quickly.
My 8-year-old son has struggled with finding reading books which interest him but this series seem to have struck a cord with him! I think there are 8 or 9 in the series, they are a bit like comic book style (think of Danger Mouse) but not written in comic book format, which personally, I think are hard for his to follow with text all over the page. They are crazy stories (in a good way!) which my son really enjoys reading, so would definintely recommend, especially perhaps for boys who are into their superheroes and cartoons!
Both my sons like Dav Pilkey books, but my youngest really is hooked on this series. I like that the story is about a little boy (mouse) that is totally relatable to my own son, and he loves that the hero has a mighty robot for a best friend and sidekick. The story is perfect for a school-aged child who is trying to push themselves to read more. It's also short enough and entertaining enough to keep my son's attention span. The series itself addresses issues younger kids can relate to and may even experience. I hope the authors keep up the series and write more than what is available now.
My son is 6 but reading at a second grade level. These books are really fun and keep his interest with having lots of pictures but still keeping up with his reading level. The story is just long enough that he doesn’t loose interest. The only thing that’s a little strange is that in the middle of the book they do a flip pages thing that takes about 10 or so pages. But other than that they are good and I got more of Th else for my son.
