It’s not the best counting book. Several pages have repeat dog drawings. Some pages have blocked dog drawings that just make it appear visually messy... I don’t know how any child could possibly learn to count with this book. I feel confused just looking at it as an adult. Sad. Choose another book.

this book is abrasive in it’s message. i bought it as a gift and refuse to give it to anyone. very disappointed in the content. i love all doggies and it feels like this book was not written by a dog lover. the tangible book itself it well made.

Terrible book especially compared to the other great Boynton books

My 14 month old and I love Sandra Boynton books, but this one is terrible! It's just countinf with a bunch of random dog noises thrown in (they get annoying to repeat and some are stupid, what does nnn-nn-nnn mean?). She had no interest in it and neither did I. Disappointing because she loves dogs but this book is just not creative or enjoyable like Boynton's others. Skip it!

I was hoping that this book would tell an actual story, BUT like so many children's books nowadays, this just has the number of doggies pictured on each page and a different bark noise. The illustrations are very good and my son definitely enjoys looking at them. I was going to buy more books from this author, but fear that her other books will be the same way...1 doggy, 2 doggies, 3 doggies.... too bad!

We have a dog and so I thought this book would be great, but I just don't like the language used in the book. We love all the Sandra Boynton books, but this one is definitely my least favorite. She tries to describe dog "barks" and "noises" and they're very weird. I would recommend getting another dog book...this one doesn't do it for me.

This book is cute, illustrations are nice. Boynton makes the coolest books. But not this one.
This one is full of individual dog bark noises. Woof woof, bark, arf... I can't get through the whole book and my baby is only interested for the first 3 pages like me. A book full of dog calls isn't much of a book
