If one is interested in political history, this book is a gem. One would be bewildered to know about the extent of power struggle the British government was involved with other powers, especially the Russians in the 19th century and early 20th century. One of the prime objective was to keep the rich State of India under their control. It will take you to areas which we have otherwise not treaded. At times you may find the narrative too detailed and there are probably a thousand character which is difficult to keep track while reading. If one has some knowledge of British India, this book is unputdownable.
