Dear Amazon,
The quality of pages and the page lines is very poor , it doesn't qualify as a hardcover book. This high cost book is made, cut and bind in a very bad manner. This product is a duplicate replica of the original book.

I didn't go very far with this book - it didn't make the cut. My impression is the author takes great and scandalous liberties in placing his own presumed motivations, evaluations and so forth over top of what Mr. Franklin actually said and did. It seemed like a small man talking frivolously about a big man, comfortable in the fact that the big man is dead. Time will be better spent elsewhere than reading this one.

And I'm sure I would love these tapes if I could bring myself to listen to them but, sadly, the reader is a huge disappointment. I must pay attention in the future to make sure I do not buy any title or format of audiobooks that feature him as the reader.

One word: tedious! It was with great fortitude that I finished this biography. Ben Franklin was probably the only person that I wanted to know more about and this is my ~1st biography. If every biographical book were this tedious, I probably shouldn't ever pick up another one.

Walter Isaacson depicts Franklin in the worst light and spends most of the book speaking of speculation on and personal failures of Franklin while only spending little time praising his amazing accomplishments. Typical left wing liberal democrat nonsense. Revisionist history to promote liberal leftist views. Complete hog wash. I hated it. One of the worst biographies I ever wasted my money on.
