Un libro di ricette con alcuni spunti ed idee interessanti ma molte di queste davvero eccessive: troppo zucchero troppo burro...troppo di tante cose. Il culmine è il cake Bacon e chocolate.... Tutti o quasi i pound cake prevedono 600 g di zucchero su 360 di farina....ho trovato più equilibrate le ricette del libro di Martha Stewart o quelli editi dalla nordic ware, sempre ricchi ma in modo accettabile. Do tre stelle perché alcune ricette sono originali e da provare, dopo averle ricalibrate.
Have made 2 of the recipes so far. Cakes turn out well, instructions are easy to follow. The reason for 3 stars is the flavours are rather bland ( for me, if i am going to have the calories there should be a lot of flavour ) and the book is very small, not easy to work with ( the size of a childs board book )
I love the way the author writes. Enjoyed reading the book. Love her stories. Love her baking tips and ingredient recomendations. But I do not like the cakes that I have baked with this recipes :( I did the strawberry, capuccino, dark chocolate. And did not like the cakes so much. The chocolate glaze recipe is good I use it for my mothers in law orange pound cake recipe and it was great. But only liked that glazed recipe.
Very disappointed in this book - read it and passed it on, so it wasn't a keeper on my shelves - most of the recipes that were unfamiliar didn't look tempting, so it was easy to let the book go to another home!
Some good recipes, but not a really big book of recipes. Written in a style a bit too "jazzy" for my tastes and I'd like more cake recipes that would classify as "plain cakes" or filled as in a tunnel of fudge cake.
