To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This jogs along pleasantly as the old woman is repeatedly thwarted in her attempt to make pancakes. But I'm not sure that it should end with her scoffing all her neighbour's pancakes - should we be telling small children it's fine to steal if we can't get what we want any other way?
The story was OK, though must say that my 6-year-old grandson figured the story out even before getting to the climax. Still, wordless pictures are great fun! By the way, he is Dutch-speaking, so I didn't need to worry about doing a translation.
I'm giving this book 3 stars because I blame myself for not reading the reviews well enough or looking inside the book. I bought this book for my six year old, however I was shocked when I got the book and it lacked words. I am new to the concept of picture books for children older than 2 years old so I did not expect to find a picture book for older kids. I'm sure some people find this entertaining or educational but I'm a little old school and I like my books with words.
