Joliment écrit, l'histoire ne m'a malheureusement pas accrochée car un peu trop linéaire. Pas vraiment de surprises les personnages sont campés et constants... j'aurais aimé un peu plus de surprises et de piquant.
I gave this book three stars not because its bad. It isn't a bad book it does need some polishing. The world seems like it could be very interesting if we were shown more of it and if the lore and history were inserted in better places in the story. just to help it flow better. I did like the characters though wish there was.more of a build up of getting to know them in the beginning. Rather than starting with them as.adults close.to the day of choosing I think I would of liked to see it start with showing more of the twins lives before that how this idea of being chosen dominated their lives. Overall its a good beginning and the writing got stronger as the story moved on. I look forward to the next in the series.
I'm not going to lie I really wanted to like this book, and for the first 39% of it I did. Nothing much happened but it really gave readers a grasp on what Nors family life was like and did a lot of good word building (at least the world that Nor knows). My problem with this book started when we were introduced to Talin (aka sterio typical love interest). Why does Nor fall for this guy and spend way to much time thinking about him over the next few weeks even though she has no idea what he's actually like as a person you may ask? He notices her instead of her twin and does not stare at her scar. If thats not the most shallow reason to like a guy then I don't know what is. After this the pase starts to pick up and it actually gets pretty intresting for a while. We meet the most itresting character in the book, enter Ceren, and then get some great scenes between him and Nor. Ony for everything to be periodically inturupted by more boring Talin Nor romance scenes. I'm not saying this is a bad book, I like aot of the things the author has done with it, but please god please get rid if Talin. Lets be honest this was just me ranting about my least favorite love intrest ever created. Sorry for wasting your time.
Reccomend to fans of The Red Queen and The Hunger Games. I devoured this book and have very few complaints. The world and characters were very well developed and I look forward to the next installment.
My only complaint would be that the end of the book seemed rushed and anticlimactic. Hopefully the next book makes up for that because I think this series has a lot of potential.
