Really sorry to give Percival, the author, a "3" on this, but as I (a retired therapist) read the book, I started feeling like a kid who gets this as a gift might feel you were saying s/he is not so normal and many kids in the 5-12 age bracket, again, sorry to say, want to be just like the other kids. They don't want to be noticed. The moral of the story is that there really is no normal, and that Norman is fine the way he is. The intention is good; I just would have handled the story differently than to have him have wings and have all the other children fly with him at the end of the book. A little too fanciful for my taste. I liked "Herman's Vacation" by Percival better
