I have recently bought a stack of young fiction books with the intention of reading them to my 7 year old daughter. I decided I’d read them first as she’s young she loses interest if them if they don’t grip you from the start. Really enjoyed the second instalment of the Widdershins sisters books I really hope there is more to come. I think they might be a bit too advanced for my 7 year old but my 9 year old would have no problem.
I loved this book. I could not put it down and didn't want it to end. The characters are lovable and the three sisters are brilliant. I enjoyed this one even more than the first. I hope there is more to come from this series! The tale of 3 parts with in this book was brilliantly done and couldn't wait to see what happened. Loved it
This book is every bit as special as A Pinch of Magic, where I first fell in love with the Widdershin sisters and their escapades.
Again, we have a story within a story and Michelle intertwined them beautifully and makes you forget everything else in your life as you become so involved in this adventure.
There are pirates (good and bad) ghosts and a witch who tests their kindness and wit.
If you want to get lost in a book then n this is the one for you. If you like ghost stories this is for you. If you like adventure this is for you. The book is appealing on so many levels, I can't recommend it enough.
‘A Sprinkle of Sorcery’ by Michelle Harrison was another delightful magical adventure with the Widdershins sisters, who were introduced in ‘A Pinch of Magic’. Enough background is provided for it to be read as a stand-alone.
While technically a children’s book, Harrison’s storytelling is the kind that appeals to readers of all ages. I borrowed its audiobook edition, read by Nicky Diss, to allow for an immersive read/listen and enjoyed it very much.
It is charming, whimsical, and very funny. I am looking forward to reading the third in the series, ‘A Tangle of Spells’.
This was a very enjoyable sequel to A Pinch of Magic, the first Widdershins sisters adventure. It was lovely to get together with the three sisters again as they head out on another adventure full of pirates, double crosses, hag stones, mysterious islands and of course heaps of magic. Very enjoyable and looking forward to book three.
A great sequel to A Pinch of Magic! The Widdershin sisters head off on another adventure to save the day. I love the characterisation Michelle Harrison has achieved for every character in the book. She really brings them alive and this helped me to immerse myself in the story.
