A great story but nothing like the series. Set in a different town. All characters are named different. Jim lives with his dad not mum. If you are buying to get a bit more info of the series then don't buy but if you want a good story then buy.
My family and I loved the Troll Hunters TV series so thought we'd read the book - be warned: it's not a lot like the series. My children are 10 and 11 and this book it too old for them. It has swear words and is written in a complicated way. I'm going to keep it for them to read when they're a little bit older.
I bought this for my son because we all have enjoyed the Netflix/TV series. It's written at a young age-level, but some of the themes and language choices are not what I would consider good for 8-12 year-olds.
I went into this book thinking it was going to be like the strain, scary, intense, and suspenseful. I was severely disappointed. This book is geared more towards teen horror than adult. The description makes you think of blood, guts, and gore. Well, I made it half way through the book, and all I can say is it was a snooze fest. I was not scared, it did not hold my interest, and to be honest, it just kept repeating over and over again about being bullied. After the 3rd or 4th time talking about bullying, I felt like the authors were just to fixated on that aspect of the story, and little else. In my opinion, don't buy this book unless u want to use it as a tranquilizer to fall asleep by.
