The book is fantastic and my daughter has enjoyed this series as our current read aloud series. However, we were so disappointed with this copy of the book! My daughter and I have really been enjoying the Serafina series. We love Serafina and all her adventures! In this particular book, we made it to page 282, the climax of the book, and found that pages 283-314 were missing! My daughter is so disappointed (lots of tears) that we can't read on to see what happens. Does Serafina defeat Uriah? Does Rowena recover from her injuries? What about Braeden, Waysa, Gideon? How did the battle end? We need to know! We love these characters! There was no place to leave feedback on this purchase, so I feel compelled to leave this review as a caution to other readers who love the series. Be sure your copy has all the pages when you first get delivery. We ended up having to additionally purchase the Kindle version just to finish the book. We were totally bummed! Quality assurance messed up on this one.
My daughter (10) loved the first two books of the series, so when this book got to our house she couldn't wait to read it. However, when she started reading it, she felt uneasy and asked that maybe this is a read together book. This book starts darker than the others. I followed up by reading it alone and really enjoyed it, but would not suggest it for the younger reader even if they have read the other books. May wait a bit to read it together with her.
If you read the first two Serafina stories you will definitely want to get this one also. The story kept my attention and the new characters are very interesting. It is always a pleasure to think of the Biltmore and that time period in a new light.
I read it before I would let kidos read it. It should have age appropriate designation. It is a little spooky for the little ones. The mystery and suspense content is good read for tweens. Reminds me somewhat of a Harry Potter book.
Bought series for 10 year old great grand Daughter. We both had a hard time waiting for volume 3. Received Monday, I read by Wednesday. Granddaughter will Get next week as Birthday present. Excellent read for tween girls and grannies too.
Another great book about Serafina and her friends. This story is written a little differently from the other books, and at first I thought I had missed a book in Serafina's story, but I soon found I did not. I hate that this is the last of the Serafina's series, but look forward to Robert Beatty's new character(s).
The readers attention is immediately grabbed in the midst of Serafina's unusual and interesting crisis. There are twists and turns that I certainty never saw coming! A terrible villain, an unexpected ally, and two best friends, that jump off staircases, summon dark forces, and repeatedly risk their lives for each other. It is a captivating tale any reader can enjoy.
