The measurements of a lot of the recipes are Way off like the french toast it called for 1 cup of milk and one egg yolk and soak your bread for 30 seconds. It ruined it and my kid was very upset. I had to tell him that I would be doing them with him because they aren't correct. so tread lightly and help your kids if you know how to cook like I do. That way you can help them adjust what the correct way is to make a recipe.
I know it says “young chefs” but I thought it was more of a cook book for young adults that just moved out of there parents home. The recipes all food for kids not at all what I was looking for 👎 I liked how it had pictures tho!
Very disappointed as bought this for my 11yr old's birthday. Had to convert all the measurements (in cups) and oven temperature (only in Fahrenheit), and the brownie recipe is the worst ever. Don't recommend.
Instructions are good. And there are the same number of recipes for each course. Since dinner is the main course I think dinner should be the focus so that was disappointing to me. Also, I found a lot of the recipes useless for our family, they were not foods that we eat or what I would deem popular dishes. So my child was underwhelmed.
I gotta say, I'm a bit bummed with the book. It's 95% vegetarian. I got this for my 17 year old son thinking it might help him practice cooking or give him some ideas in the kitchen but neither him or any of the guys wanna learn how to make kale chips, mozzarella cheese bites or tofu stir fry. I'll be returning it.
