Advice on nutrition is often confusing and catered to adults. This book “ Nutrition Facts for Kids” explains simply but profoundly what children (and their parents) have to know to make informed choices. Informed choices on what to eat and why are an important tool to stay healthy. A tool that is important always, but during a crisis like the Covid-19 crisis even more so.
I bought two more of this book for the kids of friends that value the importance of creating awareness to their children, from a young age, about nutrition. They were a hit! Both kids and parents loved it!
With so many books around on food and nutrition its hard for young children to find something they can quickly understand for their age group. Maryse Rouffaer has done a great job making nutrition facts easy to grasp. My daughters read through the book in just a few days and know enough about sugars and carbs now to point out what their fellow students are eating in the school cafeteria (somewhat critically so).
Bottom line, fun illustrations and easy to read text made it a fun read for my kids and that's what matters.
Sugar might not always be sweet but this book certainly is. My kids are in middle school and its the perfect age for this book.
I don't often recommend things but this book is a thumbs up!!! Well done.
This books brings in a simple and very knowledgeable way some important tips for us and our kids about nutrition and how to change small things of our usual habits to make our life healthier with awareness. I will be looking forward to see if the author will help us parents to go deeper in the journey of helping our children to understand that "WE ARE WHAT WE EAT", what we drink and the way we manage our lives.
As a Mom of three boys it's not always easy to explain the kids about nutrition and healthy choices! This book is funny and easy to read for me as well to read it with my children. It helps them to 'think with me' when we shop for healthy food. And to let them know that tasteful food doesn't necessarily means that's it's healthy, but that healthy food can be very tasteful ! I would highly recommend this book for Moms and Dads who want to teach children so that they can make the right choices.
