I just loved this book even though after reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried about what might happen. But after reading it, I feel confident enough in Bailey and Aiden themselves as characters created by an author I totally trust, that I know things will eventually straighten out for their happily ever after. Their love seemed as strong as ever, and speaking of that, you definitely need to read #5.5 Candy Cane Crime before you read this book, because it'll make this book so much better!
There were sure a lot of suspects in this mystery, and secrets long-hidden were brought out, so there were a couple of people with very happy endings as shown by the party thrown at the end of the book. I really liked the new character of Hannah--but you need to read it and find out who she is! It was fun to have Lois and Millie from the Amish Matchmaker series show up. That Lois is such a hoot, and I just love her character!
I hadn't suspected whodunit, and there were some other satisfying arrests made along with that person. All the characters were just at their best, and I'm super excited for the next book!
Another action packed story. Bailey is dragged into having a baby shower for her friend and employee Emily, even though it is not an Amish custom and she's not sure how Emily will feel about it, when a strange woman shows up and mentions the child Emily gave up for adoption as a teenager Emily is horrified. Not as horrified as Bailey when Esther from the pretzel shop next door, and Emily's sister, comes to get her about the women in her pretzel shop that turns out to be dead the same women who showed up at the shower. From here we are on a wild and emotional ride to find out what happened and why.
In this latest addition to the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series, author Amanda Flower takes us back to Harvest, Ohio, where candy maker Bailey King finds herself in the midst of solving the murder of who killed the mysterious visitor to the town's baby shower for local resident, Emily Keim. The reader is quickly absorbed into the lives of both the Amish and Englisch residents of the town, the secrets that lead to trouble, and the sleuthing that leads to solutions and family victories. The author deftly weaves realistic dialogue, an intriguing plot, and personable characters for a winning result. This is a very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it.
The latest installment in Amanda Flowers’ Amish Candy Shop series is a winner! Reading the book is like visiting with old friends, and the stories around the lives of the characters only enhance the well-crafted mystery. I did not see the ending coming, and I look forward to seeing what comes next for Bailey and her Amish Candy Store friends.
Reading the books in this series is so enjoyable. Most of the same characters are present with new ones to make a whole new story.Their is things about the Amish way that you learn about and how they mix in with the English. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Get your self a copy of book one you will want to read them all!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It puts you right in the middle of Harvest, Ohio. I have fallen in love with this series and you will too. I don't want to spoil anything, but I was so happy when a certain someone was hauled off to jail.
One of my favorites of the series! It feels like this installment got the series back on track. Hooray! Better character development, a more in-depth story, and not all the typographical errors noted in previous books of the series. A fun read, and looking forward to the next one!
