To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
To start with I love reading books of all genre. I wanted to try out the book "The Lotterys Plus One" which was meant for age groups 8 to 12. But reading through the first few pages I did not feel the usual urge to continue as the storyline/plot in the first few pages was lacking something. It just failed to get me hooked to it. Some books keep the reader hooked right from the beginning. I usually find it difficult to keep a book down once I have started reading it. But this one was different.
I did finally read the whole book. The story did get better and I liked the interactions between the different characters and how the situation turn out after each chapter. Overall a good story.
The reason for the 3 star is because the book did not keep me engrossed unlike the other books I have read. But again this is my personal view and may not be the same for others.
I tried to like this. It has a lot of charm. The problem is it is more charm than story.
It seemed like it was trying to set up to be a series: all of the clever names and the constant explanations for why they do things upside down. It would be better for a serial to start with a good story, not a story that tries to be clever.
