Sometimes Simon kisses me like it’s the end of the world, and I worry he might believe that it is.

Let me start by stating that both Carry On and Wayward Son books are very addictive! Plot wise, there’s nothing much to these books (I’m sorry to hurt the sentiments of those who absolutely adore this series) but the characters, their chemistry & easy banter, their extra drama & the fast pace of the story compel you to finish them in one sitting.
We basically follow Simon, Baz and Penelope, each from their own perspective, on an adventure across the pond i.e, USA, to meet old friends and just for a change of scenary from their monotonous life. We also follow Agatha, who’s living with a new roommate and following their adventures at a top secret retreat with people who are not what they seem.
Penny faces a huge shock, which nearly destroys her but she comes out stronger out of it but then the whole team is stuck. They manage to find allies in the most unexpected places, cue new characters.
This book is a no brainer roller coaster and you are left rooting for our dear heroes and for their relationships, swooning at every tender moment and chuckling at the sassy comebacks. I do wish that Simon and Baz weren’t going through some shizz again though 😢.
We’ve our baddies with a millennial spin on them which many of us will surely relate to and find hilarious!
These books are queer Rep and there’s diversity too, which makes for a wholesome read. It reads like a fan fiction, which it was tend to be (ref: Fangirl) and the ending of this one sets a mysterious tone for the 3rd one! I’m looking forward to see how our babies go about in the next book! 🙆🏻♀️
