This is fun for both my 6-year-old and me to read. Illustrations are lovely, and the little poems for each letter are cute. Each letter has the snappy little poem, not always about a god (T if for the Trojan Horse/ The men of Troy took up their spears/and fought the Greeks for ten long years./One thing that they learned, of course--/Do not bring home a wooden horse!"), and then a page about the letter poem idea (in this case the Trojan war, a quick description of the Trojan horse incident and then an explanation of concepts you might still hear today, i.e., Trojan horse and "beware of Greeks bearing gifts").
In short, something for now, and something for my daughter to read more about later.
