2.0 out of 5 starsGreat as a seek and find book, but not as a Bible story for those concerned with the biblical text

I got this for my grandson. He loves finding things in pictures so this was ideal for him. In general the story is faithful to the biblical account, but the text does add some things, some that one could reasonably speculate based on the text.
The one annoying thing and the thing that would make me not buy the book again is that this book puts some words in God's mouth. For example on p. 4, Noah says to God, "But I don't know how to build an ark." and God replies, "Just do your best, and I'll do the rest." According to the biblical text, Noah never expressed any misgivings to God and God gave Noah very specific instructions about exactly how to build the ark. Again on page 11 of the story Noah asks God, "How shall I gather so many animals?" and the the book then has God saying, "Just do your best, and I'll do the rest." In fact, according to the Bible, Noah did not gather any animals, but God brought them to the ark. This phrase appears again at the end of the book.
Moses did express misgivings to God, but Noah never did. So this is a deal-breaker for me regarding this book. I'm sad that I can't recommend it.
