4.0 out of 5 starsBonus hidden pictures within Noah's Ark story!
Reviewed in the United States on 6 February 2021
I grew up with Highlights magazine and the hidden pictures were my favorites! This is a lovely book with colorful illustrations to go with the story. I anticipate that, once the child knows the pictures around the text are there to find within the adjacent illustration, they'll be a bit distracted :) Perhaps reading through the full story before telling them about the 'hidden pix' would be an idea. Some of the pictures are upside down within the illustration, to add a bit of challenge (in a good way.) I'm pretty sure I would have found it easier to find them when I was a child then I do now. :) It is rated for ages 4+, however I believe could start a bit earlier (if reading to the child.) It's a larger book, so might be harder for a younger child to hold. The corners are not crazy 'sharp' like some hardback books. Mine did come a bit banged up, assuming from manufacturing.

My son is 3.5 and he has fun reading this with me. The story is well written as far as stories about Noah go. The art switches between beautiful and bland depending on the page. Each page has different items to find with varying difficulty. Most are blended into the scenery or characters artfully so they can be a bit challenging for a toddler to find, but he enjoys the search. So far we only search for 2-3 objects on each page as we would otherwise probably be spending hours on this book. I imagine a slightly older child would have a lot of fun with the challenge.
4.0 out of 5 starsChallenging hidden pictures books

This is not the same Highlights hidden pictures activity that were in the magazines found at every doctor’s office when I was growing up. These pictures are hidden in well-drawn and colorful illustrations in a well-told Noah’s Ark story. For toddlers, the story and accompanying art will be enough and care-givers should probably not expect them to find many of the pictures as they are tucked away in the art and are not an actual part of the scene. Pre-K and Kinder-aged children will be more successful with the searches and will enjoy the beautiful retelling of Noah’s story.
4.0 out of 5 starsCute story, and poem, but a bit too complicated for my crew.

My kids know the story of Noah's ark well and enjoyed this book. However they had a difficult time finding some of the images. To speed it up we only looked for a few each page, but I had to find most of them. The oldest is only 5, then I have a 3 and 1 year old. The poem in it is cute and it's a nice story book though.
This is so much better than I expected. It has a well written story of Noahs Ark, with cute illustrations and the Hidden Pictures weve come to know and love from Highlights! I didnt even realize hidden picture story books were a thing, but this is great!

I liked the way it told the story of Noah's ark, I mean with the current world situations, people are acting in the same manner. My kids enjoyed the seek and finds for each page which gives an added bit of fun while reading the story.
My 4 year old son is obsessed with hidden picture books, and this one was a big hit! We are not religious people, so we glaze over the actual story, but he loves to look for the hidden pictures - and the book is beautifully illustrated!
